“I can do it. I can do it with a smile on my face.”

One of the most inspirational stories I have ever heard is that of Gabe Adams. Gabe, a baby boy born with no arms and no legs in Brazil was left in a hospital there by his birth mother. When Janelle Adams of Kaysville, Utah heard of this baby, she knew right away that she needed to adopt him. So, as parents to already several children, Janelle and her husband made arrangements to have Gabe join their awesome family. Take the time to watch the video below and get to know who Gabe is. He is truly an inspiring young man!

One of my favourite things that he says is, “I can do it. I can do it with a smile on my face.” He faces challenges most of us can’t even imagine, yet he does so much on his own – and with a smile. He was blessed with wise parents who who have pushed him to his limits which has opened up doors of freedom and choices so that he can have independence. There is so much to be learned from Gabe, his parents, the people who work with him and the attitude he has that nothing is impossible. This is a story I have shared with my family and my piano students. If you search on Youtube, you’ll also find a video of him playing the piano.
