Every one loves popcorn! This is such a cute idea for a reunion, a ward/church function or a wedding – or just for fun at home with your kids! Thanks for the idea Lara!

We’ll let Lara tell about this in her own words…..

POPCORN BAR

Supplies:

  • Popcorn: $3-4 (I bought $9 worth and it was waaaaay too much for a group of 40 ladies) Also I used the “JUMBO” popcorn from Bulk Barn – and it was a hit! A fluffy, ball-like kernel…who knew?!
  • Bowls & Scoops (use from your stash)
  • Seasoning flavours ($1 per flavour, enough to fill a spice jar. Again, from bulk barn. I went with Salt & Vinegar, Dill Pickle, Sour Cream & Onion, Butter Salt and spice jars fro seasonings. 33 cents @ Dollarama.
  • Candies: $15-20 from the Bulk Barn. I went with Smarties, Gummie Bears, honey roasted peanuts and rose buds – and I threw in a bag of red Twizzlers.

  • Popcorn Spritzer: I used butter flavoured cooking spray. Upon some research, this was recommended as a way for the seasonings to stik to your popcorn, rather than ending up in the bottom of your bag. I was hesitant, so I summoned up the cousin who is staying in our basement to be my guinea pig. He said it tasted just fine! Score!
  • Plain brown paper for table “cloth” – $1 @ Dollarama
  • Felt Marker
  • Display boards $4: I picked these up awhile ago at Bianca Armour’s  I believe – super cute and versatile.
  • Chalk
  • Brown paper bags
  • Butter: $4 – Don’t forget the butter or you will have a revolt on your hands!

So for about $40 you have a super fun, cute way to feed a crowd. I hope the pictures give you an idea. I just used the brown “table cloth” to give the instructions on and it was super quick easy clean up too!

Happy Popping!!
